International Visitors Policy
The NSW Department of Services, Technology & Administration (DSTA) [formerly known as the Department of Commerce] International Visitors Policy applies to all requests concerning visits by international delegations.
Our services
DSTA exists to make doing business in NSW simple and fair for employees, consumers and industry while providing best value for government.
DSTA comprises six key divisions:

International visitors policy
DSTA is pleased to receive visits from overseas delegations in circumstances where the proposed visit:
-
Relates to issues under the DSTA portfolio (as detailed above), and has been organised through a Federal counterpart of one of the Department's service areas (such as the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission).

Relates to issues under the DSTA portfolio or other matters within our jurisdiction and it is sought at an official level either directly by the government of the country concerned, or through their local consul or embassy.

Is a part of broader activities co-ordinated by another NSW or Federal Government agency.
DSTA:

Will generally not agree to participate in visits sought by educational bodies or private business operations.

Reserves the right to charge in cases where agreement is reached to host visiting delegations. A schedule of fees may be provided where relevant.
Formal request requirements
1. Visit requests should be in the form of an official letter from either the:

Australian or NSW government agency that is coordinating or sponsoring the proposed visit

Government, embassy or consulate of the country requesting the visit.

3. The letter must be received by DSTA at least 30 days in advance of the proposed visit and must include the following details:
