Working at Commerce

The NSW Department of Commerce has offices across NSW and employs more than 4,000 people in roles that range from engineering, architecture, property valuation, client support, customer services and surveying to archaeology, industrial relations, investigations, registry services and stone masonry.

We also employ a variety of staff in business support areas including accounting, human resources, marketing, legal and administration.

In a changing and competitive environment, we strive to attract the best and brightest people with the capacity to contribute to the continued success and growth of the Department.

Commerce respects and values the contributions of people with differing skill sets, cultures and backgrounds.

As public sector officials our staff perform their official functions and duties, and exercise any discretionary powers, in ways that promote or preserve the public interest.

We encourage creativity and innovation in all our employees. We empower our employees with responsibility and accountability and offer a dynamic and supportive work environment.

We work together with staff to understand your career objectives and plan for career development.

At Commerce you will enjoy NSW Public Service conditions with competitive salary packages and flexible family-friendly working arrangements. We understand that you have multiple commitments and recognise the importance of a balance between work, family, education and community involvement. Where possible, we offer flexible work arrangements and other work/life programs to meet your individual needs.
