Driving the Government's strong ICT agenda to improve value, services and processes for NSW.
The Government Chief Information Office plays a leadership role in developing and driving whole of government initiatives for the use and management of ICT within government, industry and the community.
It is the Government's lead agency for ICT issues and provides strategic focus for implementing policies, standards and projects that:

accelerate the range and volume of government services delivered electronically;

facilitate better deployment of government assets in support of online service delivery and improved information sharing across Government;

assist in the establishment of frameworks that helps to grow the online economy;

encourage agencies to use the Government Network Service and other core telecommunications service contracts; and
-
stimulate growth in local IT industries and support community and business access to IT and telecommunications.
